When to book your newborn photos, when due dates are an estimate arrival! plus FAQ!

There’s definitely not going to be a right or wrong answer on when you book your newborn photos! Some expecting parents like to book as early as 12 weeks, some like to wait until their further along, it’s really up to you.

But to make it much easier to decide, read through this post, for FAQ, to best decide what will work for you.

These are the moments you want to capture!

They will only be this small once, book your newborn session between 7-14 days old, for those snuggly poses.

1 \\ When is the best time for newborn photos?

Typically we like to shoot newborn photos between 7-14 days old, however can extend all the way to 21 days. During this time, newborns are more sleepy and can easily be wrapped and posed. My style is more natural baby-led posing so I can be super flexible on dates.

2 \\ When should I get in contact to book my newborn photo shoot?

I always suggest earlier the better, my clients will normally reach out between 12-20 weeks preganant, to secure a session in the coming months.

We book your due date as an estimate arrival and then schedule a session within 7-21 days of bubs arrival.

Now, your probably wondering, how could I possibly have enough space in my calender when babies are so unpreditable?

Well, I only take a limited number of due dates a month, to be more flexible when it comes to babies actual birth dates and selecting a session date.

3\\ Should parents and siblings be in the photos?

This time is so special to you all, a new baby brings new joy, love and excitement. Having moments captured with parents and siblings we recommend a must!

You’ll never look back and regret booking the session with your child.

Keeping the session quite intimate and relaxed is always a positive, so having extended family in the session can be for another time. If it’s important to you, book another date and session time to capture these moments.

4\\ What’s the difference between a Lifestyle Home Session and Studio?

When it comes to choosing what you like more, it’s your personal choice.

In-Home Sessions are a storytelling capture, you’re at home, being yourselves. It really shows the real moments of new-born life at home.

Whereas studio, is more about the ‘shot’, the cosy poses and sweet little moments.

If you need help deciding, it comes down to, Storytelling or Posed? Then you will have your answer.
